This kit is meant for the MDR-XB1000 headphones.

This kit will help you modify the MDR-XB1000 to accept 2x3.5 mm connectors for single ended and balanced cables. Good for retrofits or repairs of the wire terminals. Recommended adhesive: 5 Minute Epoxy. Apply with sharp pin around the terminal.

Instructions:

You will need a soldering iron, epoxy, and a toothpick or other similar object.

1. Dissassemble headphone cups.

2. Remove original rubber cable grommets.

3. Solder the wires to the terminals on the driver.

4. Lightly sand the outer surface of the 3.5 mm terminals with the provided sandpaper for better bonding.

5. Insert connectors to the desired depth in the original cylinders and apply epoxy around the terminal using a toothpick or other similar object. Apply as much epoxy as possible to ensure a good bond.

6. Let cure for a couple of hours and reassemble your headphones.
